About Me

“A beautiful thing never gives so much pain as does failing to hear and see it.” -Michelangelo

L'art pour l'art. Art for art’s sake. The singular statement that I relate to so well, is the French artistic idea of aestheticism, which philosophically concentrates on the nature of appreciating beauty. Nothing more and nothing less. I feel that within my life, art is a tool to express ideas and thoughts from my consciousness to a physical manifestation. I have come to the realization and actuation that art is my single greatest way of conveying myself in a cathartic way. It is with aestheticism that love, beauty, grandeur, ecstasy, nature, and elegant ideas culminate into something I love in the greatest platonic way possible.

These universal themes which I try to express to the world, are key in that all viewers can experience them in their own personally tailored way. Every viewer can take them and mold them into what they see in their minds, and from such things, my art is hopefully a connection to others on a richer and deeper level. We are surrounded by daily grandness, and can simply watch, appreciate, and connect with all that exists physically, emotionally, and spiritually around us.

I start to create by observing the world, and the process of creating art is what becomes very personal, and becomes a greater way to connect with the aesthetic subject matter, and gain empathy for all that surrounds me. Having a love for the old masters, such as Botticelli, Raphaelo, Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Bouchard, and my personal heroes Alphonse Mucha and Shepard Fairey; I focus on being classically trained with portrait work, compositional placement, color theory, and drawing methods from the French Salon. Over the years I have gained a great affinity to the human form, primarily the beauty of floral patterns, nature, portraits, and capturing moments in photos, curvilinear lines and color. Combining those with the timeless awe I experience from nature and beauty along with musical melody, I feel that my work culminates into one great singularity of the natural world that we as humans live in.
